More than once I have confused immature or female Crested Bellbirds with Chirruping Wedgebills. They both forage low in bushes or on the ground.
I must remember that the crest on the bellbird is darker, less likely to be erect and curves back, whilst the wedgebill's is a similar colour to the rest of the bird, is more likely to be erect and curves upward.
The wedgebill's tail is also relatively long and is usually cocked upwards.
